Welcome to CareerMomenta. By accessing or using our website at careermomenta.com and any services offered through it, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using our services. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client", "you", or "your") and CareerMomenta ("we", "us", or "our").
1. Services
CareerMomenta provides professional career coaching and advisory services, including but not limited to:
- CV Writing & Review: Professional review, rewriting, and optimisation of your curriculum vitae
- Interview Preparation: One-on-one coaching sessions, mock interviews, and feedback
- Career Coaching: Personalised guidance on career direction, job search strategy, and professional development
- LinkedIn Profile Optimisation: Review and enhancement of your LinkedIn presence
- Academic & Research Career Support: Specialised guidance for PhD students, researchers, and academics
- Cover Letter Writing: Tailored cover letters for specific roles and industries
All services are delivered remotely via video call, email, or our online platform unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of services.
2. Eligibility and Account
By using our services, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- All information you provide to us is accurate, current, and complete
- You will not use our services for any unlawful or prohibited purpose
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@careermomenta.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
3. Booking and Scheduling
Sessions must be booked in advance through our online booking system or by direct arrangement with your coach. The following conditions apply:
- Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment or a confirmed payment method
- You will receive a confirmation email with session details and any preparation materials
- It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary technology (internet connection, webcam, microphone) for remote sessions
- Sessions begin and end at the scheduled times; late arrivals will not result in extended session time
- We reserve the right to reschedule sessions in exceptional circumstances and will provide at least 24 hours' notice where possible
4. Payment Terms
All prices are displayed in the currency indicated on our pricing page and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Payment Methods: We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full card details
- Payment Timing: Payment is required in full at the time of booking unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing
- Packages: Multi-session packages must be paid in full upfront. Package sessions are non-transferable to other individuals
- Invoices: Invoices are issued electronically and are payable within 7 days unless otherwise agreed
- Late Payment: Overdue invoices may incur a late payment fee of 2% per month on the outstanding balance
- Currency: All transactions are processed in the currency displayed at checkout. You are responsible for any currency conversion fees charged by your bank
If a payment fails or is declined, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel your booking until payment is received.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
We understand that circumstances change. Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is as follows:
Client Cancellations
- More than 48 hours' notice: Full refund or free rescheduling at no charge
- 24–48 hours' notice: 50% refund or one free reschedule (subject to availability)
- Less than 24 hours' notice: No refund. The session fee is forfeited
- No-show: The full session fee is forfeited with no right to reschedule
Package Sessions
- Individual sessions within a package may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice
- Unused sessions in a package expire 6 months from the date of purchase
- Partial refunds for unused package sessions are available within 30 days of purchase, minus a 15% administration fee
Written Deliverables (CV, Cover Letters)
- Once work has commenced on a written deliverable, cancellations are not eligible for a refund
- If work has not yet commenced, a full refund will be issued upon written request
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to hello@careermomenta.com. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.
6. Refund Policy
We are committed to delivering high-quality services. If you are not satisfied with a delivered service:
- Please contact us within 7 days of service delivery with specific details of your concerns
- We will work with you to address any issues, which may include a complimentary revision session or additional written feedback
- Refunds at our discretion may be issued in cases of demonstrable service failure on our part
- Dissatisfaction with career outcomes (e.g., not securing a job) does not constitute grounds for a refund, as results depend on many factors outside our control
7. Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain ownership of all personal content you provide to us (CV drafts, personal statements, career information). By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to use it solely for the purpose of delivering your requested services.
Our Content: All website content, coaching materials, templates, frameworks, and methodologies created by CareerMomenta are our exclusive intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialise any of our materials without prior written consent.
Deliverables: Upon full payment, you receive a non-exclusive licence to use the written deliverables (CV, cover letters) we produce for your personal career purposes. You may not resell or distribute these materials.
8. Confidentiality
We treat all client information with strict confidentiality. We will not disclose your personal or professional information to third parties except:
- As required by law or regulatory authority
- To our service providers who assist in delivering our services (subject to confidentiality obligations)
- With your explicit written consent
We may use anonymised, non-identifiable information for internal quality improvement and training purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- CareerMomenta provides career coaching and advisory services. We do not guarantee specific employment outcomes, salary increases, or career advancement as a result of our services
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the 3 months preceding the claim
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption
- We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on our coaching or advice, including but not limited to career changes, job applications, or salary negotiations
- We are not liable for any technical failures, interruptions, or errors in our online platform or third-party services we use
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
- Any warranty that our services will meet your specific requirements or expectations
- Any warranty that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
11. Acceptable Use
When using our services, you agree not to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Use our services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Harass, abuse, or harm our staff, coaches, or other clients
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or data
- Reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit our services or materials without written consent
- Use our services to create content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
We reserve the right to terminate your access to our services immediately and without refund if you breach this acceptable use policy.
12. Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or our services shall be resolved as follows:
- Informal Resolution: We encourage you to contact us first at hello@careermomenta.com to resolve any dispute informally
- Mediation: If informal resolution fails, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings
- Jurisdiction: Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the applicable territory
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date
- Sending an email notification to registered clients for significant changes
Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using our services.
